“Home”
If you don't know my wife and I sold our house packed up the dogs and took our business on the road and have been traveling since early February. It has been an amazing several months and as of now we have no plans to halt our traveling and settle down. We have created such a fulfilling life and the experiences haver changed us forever. Though we have been moving from place to place every week, two weeks or month we have been able to dig into some great habits, routines and mindsets while we've been away. We have become more aligned and happier as a result....In July we came back to northern Illinois to visit friends and family (since it was the longest stretch we'd gone without seeing many of them).
Being "home" for a couple months has been amazing and challenging. In fact, much more challenging than being on the road and traveling each week.
We've been tempted more, distracted more, questioned more, judged more, criticized more. Our way of life isn't for everybody. Neither is yours for us.
We've felt it more too
Because we've spent a lot of time and energy creating a life we love and creating experiences and memories to last a lifetime. We (Alex and Elaine) are our first priority and that won't change.
And much of the above temptations, distractions, judgements, criticisms have tempted us to be out of alignment and at times brought about some discomfort. Discomfort around conversations and the reality of shifting friend and family dynamics.
And that's ok.
Nothing worth having comes without resistance. Creating a life that fits your unique preferences and vision doesn't come easy. It takes work. Fortunately we are committed to our vision. But not everybody can say the same for themselves and that's ok too. No right or wrong. No better or worse.
But resistance and difficulties they can teach you to BE more dedicated to the path you are on. To BE more discipline in nurturing the people and experiences that light you up. To BE more determined and convinced with what feels right for you and your truth. To BE more excited about what you are creating each day and living your life on your terms. As long as we can all do the same for ourselves we all win. The moment you start doing things for the wrong reasons or reasons outside yourself you lose.
You can thank life for these lessons and experiences.
For its the discomfort that brings about the biggest lessons and shifts but always for the better if we allow it to be.
In those moments we have a choice...a choice to continue down the same path or create a new one. My hope for you is that you always choose what you feel in your heart is best for you...NO MATTER WHAT. I am here to support you in that process.
Where are you facing discomfort right now? What might it be teaching you? What’s your plan to navigate it?
