There is so much information out there on what to do to get in the best shape. Its time we cut the BS and get real…

I hear from a lot of people each week in my inbox, social media and in consultation calls on the biggest problems you face when it comes to changing your health, fitness and life for the better.

I've narrowed it down into 4 areas that, if mastered, WILL absolutely change your life!

You can read about some of the past and current clients and the changes they've made focusing on these exact 4 areas HERE.

Lets dive into each below.

1. Food. Without a doubt the biggest area of confusion, frustration and lack of knowledge and awareness comes around food. Its also the ONE thing that needs to be addressed when it comes to losing fat and having a healthy body composition. Food NOT exercise will determine your weight. You must understand this.

Food quantity (how much food) and food quality (what kinds of food) are the two things we MUST figure out. Fortunately or unfortunately, this is different for everyone, however the basics remain true for everyone.

We must prioritize nutrient dense foods with a specific caloric amount. Together you create the magic of a healthy and optimal weight.

2. Exercise. What is the best style of training to lose weight, build muscle and look great? there is a lot of information on what's "best" but the data, research and personal experience makes it actually a no brainer.

Resistance training with progressive overload is KING.

3. Stress Management. Stress affects us all differently but it affects us nonetheless. We don't get rid of stress but we MUST figure out how to manage stress if we are ever going to create a healthy lifestyle. This means incorporating practices and habits that will help normalize stress hormones (cortisol, insulin and hunger hormones like ghrelin and leptin) so that our eating and exercise habits can actually be effective. I've seen it to often, do everything "right" but stress is so high that a client wont lose weight, build muscle or feel great! Calories matter, yes, but so does managing stress!

So optimizing sleep, perspective, mindset, journaling or even breathwork or meditation can be helpful.

4. Establishing Real Importance. We all want to be fit and healthy, but as soon as life gets tough, most people (96% to be exact) quit, fail and never make progress. You must have a real reason you are doing this. Sure, having a six pack is a good goal, or fitting into your pants, but those reasons are not enough of a reason for 99% of people. You lose a few lbs, feel better, and think "This is good enough."

Good enough is the enemy of great. We aren't here as a living miracle to get by, and for "good enough."

But you must establish intrinsic motivation that trumps ALL.

How to Change Going Forward:

Having a clear understanding of each, actionable steps, and a process to follow are the keys to unlocking your full potential for a fit life!

What’s Been Done By Others

I was looking for a personal trainer to hold me accountable and provide guidance in dieting and workouts. Alex has done that in the best possible way. He is professional and excellent at what he does and Alex helped me take on meaningful life change as to healthy habits in many areas of life. He is highly recommended!

I never post shirtless pictures on social media, but wanted to share a little bit about my journey over the past 6 months … I made a commitment 6 months ago to change my heath. I knew I couldn’t do it alone, so asked for help. I hired what I originally thought was a personal trainer and got out of it a personal trainer, nutritionist, workout planner, well-being coach, therapist and friend. Thank you Alex Cook! The last 6 months have been about just a few key changes - more water, periodic workouts, and more movement - and has resulted in losing 24lbs and 9 inches in my waist/hips. All while simply being more aware of what and how much I ate. My getting healthy goal does not stop here, but I now have the tools necessary and cannot wait to see what the next 6 months bring! If I can do it, you can do it … just take that first step and ask for help! You won’t go wrong with Alex Cook!!!
