Intention and Focus For Optimal Health
You have forgotten how powerful, capable and strong you are.
Somewhere along the way you learned that you aren't good enough.
You were told the world is scary.
Carbs are bad.
You can't do it.
Your genetics are bad.
Be realistic.
Except these are, more often than not, opinions from people who live a life you wouldn't trade places with.
I promise you, people who are fit and happy eat carbs. People who are successful are not "realistic".
You are neither blessed or screwed with genetics.
However, ALL are true if you allow them to be.
There's a famous saying from Henry Ford that goes:
"Whether you think you can or can't-You're right."
What a powerful message if you really sit with it. You will see the world that you are committed to seeing.
You see, you've been putting energy, focus and attention into a lifestyle that isn't serving you anymore. You are living it on autopilot because you never stopped to question whether or not these things were true. You just went on as if they were, which made them true, and because you want better for yourself you are suffering.
There is your highest self, desire and life and then there is the one you have bought into. The gap between the 2 is what is causing your pain and dissatisfaction in life and your fitness.
Simply put,
Your Highest Self - Your Subscribed Self = Your Level of Suffering
Life is hard and we struggle, but we don't have to suffer.
To break out of this you must be mindful of 3 things.
1. Energy. This is everything. Energy is every action, interaction, movement, etc. It involves a transfer of energy. You must be mindful of where you are placing your energy. Everyone and everything will try and capture your attention. Even these words are trying to get your attention (and help bring awareness to the impact you energy has ono your life)
It's not just how tired or awake you are.
Energy is everything, everyone that you give time and attention to. They either give or take energy.
The key is understanding this is that you must safeguard it for what will help you live a healthy and happy life. They key in being able to do this effectively is knowing what YOU want (not what others want for you.)
How are people affecting how you feel? Do your best friends and family give you energy or drain it?
How about your work? are you sacrificing too much for your pay check?
What is not having boundaries around these things costing you in your life?
2. Attention. Where you place your attention is where your energy goes. Focus on how bad carbs are and how miserable the world is, that is exactly what you will find more of. You will find your obsession over carbs makes them impossible to overcome and they will then haunt you and be the reason you can't lose weight and feel lethargic all of the time. Consume more mainstream media and you will feel pretty awful about the state of the world.
In knowing what you want to create in your life, you can then seek out information, people, and stories that influence you in a POSITIVE way. In ways that encourage intentional growth and not just cheap dopamine hits. Anything from a billboard, to a person walking down the street have the ability to drain your energy if you choose to react.
Which brings us to 3...
3. Reactions. Sometimes your attention will be captured and you will go on that ride for a period of time. This is normal. You will then have a choice in how you react. The world is designed to capture your attention and to get reactions. This is precisely the model of most media outlets. Outrageous headlines to capture your attention. The truth has little to do with what sells these days. Its who can capture the most attention and because they garner reactions, they continue to sell. For you, who wants a great fulfilling and healthy life, you must learn not to react to everything you see or here. Instead, learn to simply observe and be a witness and simply move on. Ask yourself, is this information useful to me in living the life I say I want?
This will help filter out where you place your energy, attention and reactions to. There is perhaps no greater work than the work i've outlined here today.
To live a great life, you must learn to filter out anything and everything that doesn't fit into the mold you want to create for yourself. When you can't do this, you must learn to simply not react or give further energy to those things.
As world renowned mindset coach Tony Robbins say's
"What we focus on we find.
What we focus on seems real.
What we focus on-ultimately-we become."
Take inventory on where you want to be in life. How do you want to look and feel?
Ask yourself if where you are placing your energy, attention and reactions are helping or hurting you.
Be honest. This is the only way to break away from the pack and reach your true potential.
From a blank slate you can recreate yourself into the person you were meant to be.
This is your life's purpose.
